In what cases is the use of foot massagers not recommended?
Injuries and wounds
If you have a recent injury or open wounds on your feet, it is best not to use the foot massager. Mechanical stimulation could slow down healing or cause infection, especially if the wound has not yet properly closed.
Inflammatory diseases
Foot massagers should also be used with caution in cases of inflammatory conditions such as arthritis or gout. During the acute phases of these conditions, massage can worsen inflammation and lead to additional pain.
Pregnancy
During pregnancy, feet are often swollen, and it can be tempting to use a massager to relieve discomfort. However, certain acupressure points on the feet could promote premature contractions. It is therefore important to consult a doctor before any use during pregnancy.
